EAST END KID by Emily Hart Post

CHARITY EVENTS FOR KIDS AND PARENTS MAX CURE FOUNDATION – ROAR FOR THE CURE This was the first time I went to the ROAR FOR THE CURE party at East Hampton Tennis. It is to fight Pediatric Cancer. When I think about kids getting cancer I get real sad. The Roar had so many games and rides I cannot remember them all. My friend Linda Shapiro who runs the event e-mailed me to make sure I was coming and I was happy she asked. I played carnival games and beat the other kids in the first game I tried— squirting the water in the clown’s mouth and making the balloon rise to the top first. I

did miniature golf, the giant slide, I watched the shows, met the stilt man, tried some basketball, had lots of food, ice cream and candy. I hope they get rid of cancer but keep the event. EINSTEIN COLLEGE OF MEDICINE WILD, WILD WEST CARNIVAL One of my favorite parties of the summer is the Wild, Wild West Carnival, which takes place at the Ross School in Bridgehampton. I always love this carnival and have been going for lots of years. I remember that we won the auction and went to Disney World and had Murray as our guide and we didn’t have to wait on the long lines. I remember that Dad lost a tooth on some hard candy. But this year may have been the best of all because my school friend Isabel (Izzy) was there with me. So we just went to all the things we wanted to and Mom and Dad watched us but kind of let us alone. We had our pictures taken by photographers from newspapers, then went on the super slide, then played in a car race (we both lost) and played in a contest where you roll the ball and your car moves based on which hole it winds up in (Izzy won and I didn’t). Oops, my dad lost the fish Izzy won. And that was the first hour. We had lots of fun and I was pretty tired after three hours. Can’t wait until next year.
